Funeral Cars Set for Man Found Dead in Car
Funeral cars will gather on Monday for the service of a Gainesville man who was found dead in his car. While this story may not seem like anything unusual, the fact that the car was ticketed by Gainesville employees seven times during the course of two weeks while the man was in it makes this an interesting story.
John Waldo was 42 years old when he passed away in his car earlier this month. His car was parked in the College Park neighborhood as he received seven parking tickets. An autopsy has been performed on Waldo, but it did not find any obvious cause of death. However, it could be another five or six weeks before the toxicology reports come back. Still, police are looking for clues from people who may have been the last ones to see him alive.
Waldo was an engineer at AvMed and his funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. with visitation starting at noon at the Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. If you have any information that could help the Gainesville Police Department solve this case and determine what happened before Waldo died, please call Detective Bennie Smith at 334-2488.
