Funeral Cars Burglarized During Funeral in Idaho
When you think of Idaho, you may not think of crime. But this story takes the cake and it even stoops to new levels.
While a family was mourning the death of a dear loved one in a Rexburg funeral chapel last week, thugs broke into the funeral cars parked outside and stole several items. Police say there were five cars burglarized during a two-hour period. Three of the cars that were burglarized were parked in a local branch of The Church of the Latter-Day Saints.
According to Sgt. Rick Schmitt of the Rexburg Police Department, the thieves left the purse in the front seat of each car that was robbed.
Has it really come to this? Are people so hard up for money that they feel like they need to burglarize funeral cars parked outside while families are inside mourning the death of a loved one? Have people become so heartless that they will take some easy money even if it means making the situation even worse for a widow or other surviving family members at a time in their lives when things seem the bleakest? Let’s have some compassion and respect for the mourners and the mourning process. Leave the funeral cars alone and find legal ways to earn money.
